El Hadji Warns Cameroon: “They Need to Wake Up Early Before Passing Over Us”

In the lead-up to their clash against Cameroon in the ongoing Ivory Coast AFCON, El Hadji Diouf has clarified the expectations for Senegal’s defending champions.

Diouf asserts, “Being expected to perform is not a burden; it’s a good pressure. We have the best team, and current stars who enjoy playing and will bring a lot of joy. We are the team to beat, but before overcoming us, one needs to wake up very early.”

He adds, “We’ve learned from our mistakes to retain our title. It’s a positive pressure that we’ll transfer to our players and, in turn, to the supporters. We have everything needed to achieve what the English call ‘back to back.'”

Cameroon has been put on notice ahead of the anticipated clash on January 19.
